Ian M Campbell Memorial Prize

Administration

1. The Ian Matthew Campbell Prize Fund will be invested and managed as the ANZ Victorian Community Foundation (VCF) determines.
2. A prize from the Ian Matthew Campbell Prize Fund can only be paid to an organisation with Australian Taxation Office Deductible Gift Recipient status.
3. The Prize is the responsibility of the College of Clinical Psychologists.
4. The College of Clinical Psychologists will appoint a selection committee including the Chair of the College of Clinical Psychologists, two members of the National Executive Committee of the College of Clinical Psychologists, and one program convener of an accredited Clinical Psychology University program nominated by the chairperson of the College of Clinical Psychologists, to be responsible for recommending an appropriate recipient to the Board.
5. The Prize will be presented at the Society's Annual Conference.
6. If in any year the selection committee considers that no suitable candidate has been nominated for the Prize, the unexpended net annual income may be added to the Ian Matthew Campbell Prize Fund and thereby augment the amount available to be awarded in subsequent years.

Eligibility

1. Nominees must hold at least the grade of Member of the APS
2. The Nominees must hold or be eligible to hold the grade of Member of the College of Clinical Psychologists

Nomination process

1. The Society, through the College of Clinical Psychologists, will call for nominations from the membership of the Society.
2. The proposer and seconder will each be required to present a brief report supporting the nomination and giving details of the candidate's suitability.
3. Nominations should include the name and contact details of the organisation which will receive the award on behalf of the nominee, including confirmation of the Australian Taxation Office Deductible Gift Recipient status of that organisation.

Selection criteria

In judging nominees for the Prize, the selection committee will have regard to a nominee's contribution to the scientific or professional status of clinical psychology in Australia.

Value of the award

Successful candidates for the Ian M Campbell Prize will:

1. receive an award of $2500;
2. be formally presented with a plaque
3. receive complementary College of Clinical Psychologists membership for one year, subject to application for membership within twelve (12) months of receiving notice of the Prize, and eligibility criteria meet. Any successful candidate who is already an existing member of the Society and the College of Clinical Psychologists will be offered their following year’s membership at no cost.
