The Award recognises distinguished contributions to psychology in Australia by psychologists at later career stage. The contribution must have made a difference to psychology and the Australian community as a whole. The nominee’s work must meet the mission statement for the Society: namely, 'to represent, promote and advance psychology and psychologists within the context of improving community wellbeing and scientific knowledge.' Awards may be in any field.
(i) Nominees should be Australian citizens or have permanent residency status in Australia.
ii) Nominees are required to be Members of The Australian Psychological Society Limited and must be nominated for the Award by a Member of the Society.
(i) The value of the Award is $3000.
(ii) The successful candidate will be expected to attend the Australian Psychological Society's annual conference as an invited speaker, and submit a version of the address to the Australian Psychologist. He or she will have his or her travel, conference registration expenses and accommodation for up to four nights at the conference venue paid by the Society.
(iii) A plaque of the Award will be presented at the invited address.

(ii) Nominations should also include a curriculum vitae giving details of all publications, community recognition and the names of two referees.
(iii) If the Selection Committee determines there has been no suitable nominations, then the Board of Directors may nominate or invite nominations.
(i) The Award will be advertised in InPsych, the bulletin of the Australian Psychological Society each year.
(ii) The Award should also be promoted where possible through other avenues including sending material to departments of psychology.
(iii) A committee comprising the President and three other Directors will be responsible for selecting the successful nominee.
(iv) The President will inform the Board of the successful nominee.
(v) An Award will only be made in any year if there is at least one nomination of sufficient merit.
