**NEW** ATAPS Child Mental Health Service

The online ATAPS Child Mental Health Services (CMHS) training program is funded by the Department of Health and Ageing, and is intended to both up-skill the current ATAPS workforce and extend the skills and knowledge of more experienced clinicians in order to work effectively with children (aged birth to 11 years of age) who have, or are at risk of developing a mental disorder, and their families.

Fundamentals of private practice

This online CPD is designed to expand your thinking about issues to be considered prior to setting up a practice; to introduce you to the essential and fundamental best practice steps to take when establishing your new business; and to introduce the relevant ethical and compliance issues associated with running a private practice. If you are an existing practice owner the course aims to introduce you to some options about how you might improve, extend and reinvigorate your practice.

ATAPS telephone delivered cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) training

This training on the telephone delivery of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (T-CBT) is aimed at providing best-practice guidelines, resources and reference materials for allied health providers working under the Better Outcomes in Mental Health Care (BOiMHC) Access to Allied Psychological Services (ATAPS) program.

Perinatal non-directive counselling training

Perinatal Non-Directive Counselling is an online training program for health professionals working with women who have any personal concerns about a current or recent pregnancy, whether it has been full-term or part-term (including a planned termination).

CBT fundamentals: Processes and techniques in cognitive behaviour therapy

This online CPD is the ideal way for providers of Focused Psychological Strategies (FPS) to meet the 30 June CPD deadline. Satisfactory completion of this training will allow practitioners who are registered to provide Focused Psychological Strategies (FPS) Medicare items to demonstrate compliance with the mandatory ten (10) hours of CPD required to maintain billing rights to provide FPS items under Medicare.

eHealth for practitioners

eHealth for Practitioners is an online short course for allied health practitioners. This course provides the opportunity to complete CPD online at your own pace, in your own time and, for APS members, provides 12 hours of CPD.

Illicit drugs in sport (IDIS) professional development training

This online CPD course provides registered psychologists with foundational knowledge to better understand the complexities around the use of illicit drugs in the world of sport to more ably support those athletes in need of counselling and rehabilitation.

Suicide prevention professional development training

This professional development training package for allied health workers working under the ATAPS Suicide Prevention Service is designed to provide support to people in the community who are at risk of suicide or self-harm and is delivered though Divisions of General Practice and Medicare Locals.

The Kimberley way: Indigenous suicide prevention training

This training package around Indigenous suicide prevention for allied health professionals working in the Kimberley region. The aim of the Indigenous Suicide Prevention Training is to develop an allied health professional’s understanding of suicide prevention specific to individuals and communities within the Kimberley region.
