The Australian government has nominated the Australian Psychological Society (APS) as the assessing body for overseas psychologists applying for migration to Australia under the General Skilled Migration categories. This means the Society is the only body in Australia that can assess psychology qualifications for migration to Australia under these categories.
People seeking to migrate under the General Skilled Migration categories must have:

From 1 May 2010, all applicants for the assessment of psychology qualifications for migration must demonstrate English language proficiency. Most applicants will be required to provide evidence of a score of 7 or more in each component of the Academic Module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) as part of their application.

Please note: Applicants not applying for the purpose of migration are not required to provide evidence of IELTS results.
